Dear Local 101 Member,

Congratulations on your Retirement!  You have worked long and hard to reach your retirement and the Officers and Staff of Local 101 are proud to count you as part of an honored group among the UFCW family.  In many ways, retirement is considered as a chance to relax and cultivate other interests beyond the workplace which has been such a major part of your life to this point.  One of the ways that many UFCW members have found to enhance their retirement is to join a UFCW Retiree Club in their area.  These many fine organizations are located throughout the United States and Canada and provide not only an opportunity for social activities but a chance to learn about a variety of issues affecting retirees and senior Americans today.  Retiree Clubs plan activities and offer the chance to share these activities with people who share much of the same experience as yourself.

If you are planning to stay in the area, please consider joining the Local 101 Retiree's Club.  Dues are a reasonable $18.00 per year.  Simply contact President Tom Dower at (650) 368-7373 or Secretary-Treasurer Ken Griffin at (650) 349-1851 to get details on upcoming events.  If you are planning to move, we can put you in touch the Local Union in that area.  Either way we think you will enjoy the many fine people in these clubs.

At our monthly meetings we enjoy potluck lunches, interesting speakers, picnics, special holiday
luncheons with entertainment and an occasional round of bingo thrown in for good measure.  Tour bus trips to casinos are also periodically offered.

We'd enjoy your company and we think you'll enjoy ours.  We usually meet at 11:00am on the third Tuesday of the month at the Martin Luther Community Center located at 725 Monte Diablo in San Mateo.  Meeting times will vary so please call President Tom Dower at (650) 368-7373 or Secretary-Treasurer Ken Griffin at (650) 349-1851 for further information.
